Nick Leong

Nick is a University of California, Los Angeles student pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Science and a Minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. He is doing directed research in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science to develop a methodology to analyze acoustic transect data. He also works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Tina Truede’s laboratory, working with a graduate student to plan and develop an employment method for microbial fuel cells in order to quantify extracellular electron transport efficiency and anaerobic oxidation of methane productivity. Driven by a firm commitment to environmental stewardship, Nick’s primary goal is to continuously expand his knowledge and make a substantial positive impact in his future endeavors within the field.He is a Data Scientist at the Moore Institute, working part-time on developing tools for the Microplastics Data Portal.
