The Moore Institute for Plastic Pollution (MIPPR) invites candidates to apply as a board member to MIPPR’s Board of Directors. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who are passionate about advancing science-based solutions to compact plastic pollution.

While the staff runs the daily operations and programming, the Board of Directors provides guidance, oversight, and evaluation of the organization.

The Moore Institute is an accredited nonprofit research laboratory based in Long Beach, California. Our work advances the scientific understanding of plastic pollution through collaborative research, scientific innovation, and open data.

We collaborate closely with our sister organization, Algalita, the organization that started the movement to end plastic pollution nearly 25 years ago. Algalita has sparked connections between scientists, policymakers, corporations, young change-makers, and subject matter experts across the globe.
